I think there's a difference in what men and women see as being a douche bag.
I think that men see an asshole guy and women see a confident guy that goes for what he wants.
What spreads the stereotype is that guys fail with women and see other guys that they think of as assholes having a lot of success.
They decide to be more of an asshole to women and then they start having success. But what they saw as being an asshole,
the women saw as being more confident and assertive. But since the guys see their behavior as douche bag behavior,
